Information available to Agoo news indicates that, from next academic year, the Kwahu West Municipal assembly will support an initiative that will offer free weekend tuition to all examination candidates in the public schools.
This was revealed by the Municipal Chief Executive Hon Yaw Owusu Addo during Kwahuman International School’s 40 years anniversary on Saturday 5th August 2017 at the school’s recreational ground.
According to him, the assembly’s main aim is to prepare the pupils adequately towards the BECE which they write at the end of their junior High programme.
‘’It is our strong conviction at the municipal assembly that this initiative coupled with the extra effort already being put in by our dedicated teachers and their managers, will bring significant change in the academic performance of our children at the end of the day.’’, he said.
Touching on government’s free Senior High School education policy he said, “the municipal assembly is determined to keep their eyes on the prize as the programme begins this year in September.
According to him the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly wishes to position the children in such a way that they will be admitted into some of the best senior high schools in the country and not just to consign them to the fate where they will merely be offered placements into second grade schools after the best ones have been taken up by pupils from other parts of the country.
