A financial analyst of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Samuel Ampah has opined that China is a very strong country, as such Africa especially Ghana cannot do away with them, but should tread carefully when dealing with them.

According to the financial analyst, whenever the Chinese allocate funds to a sister country, they do that with the aim of gaining something that is going to be of benefit to them directly in a “transparent way”.

The Chinese government has decided to dole out $15bn to the government of Ghana which is busy fighting off illegal miners including Chinese nationals.

Ghana in exchange, wants to roll out the red carpet to Chinese investors to come in for rich natural resources some of which are being harassed by illegal  miners. Returning from his 4-day visit to China, Vice-President Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia said at a Sunday press briefing at the Jubilee lounge of the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana needs to ‘leverage its natural resources.’

Speaking to Agoo Fm’s morning show host, Eugene Akoto Bamfo on “Ene Nso Biem” he said Ghana must be capable of bringing out resources to add up to the Chinese resource in order to empower herself to be able to negotiate with them but must do that cautiously.

Dr. Samuel Ampah later advised that we need to build our economy in order to make our private sector strong.
