To whom much is given, much is expected-President Mahama to Fodoa community


President John Dramani Mahama today commissioned the Fodoa community Day Senior High School in the Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern region. President John Dramani Mahama, began a six-day campaign tour of the Eastern Region on Monday 24th October 2016.

Accompanied by the president were Minister for Education, Professor Mrs. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Communications Minister, Dr. Omane Boamah, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofoh, Director of Elections for the NDC and Mrs Marrieta Brew, Attorney General and Minister of Justice. Also at the function were Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Communications Director for the campaign team, Chief of Abetifi and acting President for Kwahu Traditional Council Akyeamfuor Asiedu Agyemang III as well as other chiefs.

Addressing the people, the first gentleman of the land gave a lecture on the importance of child education and counseled them to pay more attention to education, especially the children. He said the facility comprises a staff common room, 24 classrooms, science laboratories, a library and 8 offices, expressing the adage, “to whom much is given, much is expected. President Mahama handed over a brand new bus and Kia pick up in addition to the edifying facility.

President Mahama told the chiefs and people of Fodoa to take good care of the educational facility enlightening them that although it is government who provided the facility, it now belongs to the community.

He lamented on the state of roads in the area but explained that government is doing all it can to follow due procurement process to award contracts to qualified contractors, people who will construct quality roads, he said.

Akyeamfuor Asiedu Agyemang III encouraged the president to continue his good works and pleaded with him to initiate more developmental projects in the area especially the bad roads.
